DynaLIFE Cup represents “pinnacle of achievement” for players
EDMONTON – The Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League western playoff will be safely underway May 14, 2021, thanks to COVID-19 testing services from DynaLIFE Medical Labs.
The Alberta-based laboratory provide COVID-19 testing services, to enable players and coaches to compete in a safe environment. The GMHL Junior A Hockey League is the only Junior hockey league still on the ice in Canada currently playing and the only group to be conducting playoffs thanks to an exemption from the Alberta Government based on enhanced COVID protocols, including our partnership and weekly testing done by DynaLIFE overseen by GMHL medical director Dr. Sandy Tam.
GMHL West Executive Director Derek Prue said the division has been fortunate to end regular season play safely and transition to post-season excitement during the pandemic. The league is recognized in Canada’s hockey community for having navigated the challenges of COVID-19, while managing a recent expansion welcoming four new teams from Alberta.
“We could think of no better partner for our championship than DynaLIFE, who has been instrumental in helping Canadians overcome extreme adversity over these last years. The DynaLIFE Cup represents the pinnacle of achievement for our players and our organizations, and we look forward to awarding it to this season’s champions,” Prue said.
DynaLIFE CEO Jason Pincock said his team’s commitment to safe sporting entertainment in Alberta is a point of pride for staff, who come from communities across Alberta where hockey is an important part of their culture.
