Partnership with sport associations allows athletes to compete at Olympic and Paralympic qualifying events
CALGARY (February 22th, 2021) – The COVID-19 testing model that brought the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs to Alberta is now providing Canadian athletes a path to Olympic and Paralympic competition.
DynaLIFE has collaborated with the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary (CSI Calgary) to bring industry-leading COVID-19 testing protocols to wrestlers, fencers, curlers, skiers, and athletes in a variety of summer and winter sport disciplines, and their training teams.
Through an event-specific partnership with Curling Canada – similar to its arrangement with the NHL – DynaLIFE and CSI Calgary are providing COVID-19 testing for the curling hub, which will include the men’s and women’s national championships, the mixed doubles championship, the men’s world curling championship, Players Championship and the Champions Cup.
“Canada and Alberta are home to some of the world’s most talented athletes,” said Jason Pincock, CEO of DynaLIFE. “They have dedicated their lives to sport, and to make our country proud on the international stage. Ensuring their ability to compete safely, at qualifying events here and abroad, is critical to their success. Their dedication and achievements give Canadians something to cheer for. That’s important to us as a community partner, and to all of us working through this pandemic.”
Athlete access to testing is critical to ensuring safe travel and competition environments. DynaLIFE’s testing protocol affords athletes travel exemptions required to compete in Olympic qualifying events in several countries including France, Croatia, the Netherlands, and Germany.
“Sport is an important part of Alberta’s identity,” said Gary Davies, President/CEO of CSI Calgary. “It’s one thing to train, but our athletes have to compete. They need to participate in events to stay sharp, and to earn points and qualify for the Olympics and Paralympics. Our partnership with DynaLIFE allows our athletes to do that. It’s essential to their success.”
The Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be held at Markin McPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta from February 19th to 28th, 2021.
